REXCO HISTORY:
Rexco Equipment, Inc was founded in 1964 by Rex Smith Sr. and his wife Mildred. They started with 26 counties in eastern Iowa selling and servicing the Link-Belt crane account, whom Rex had worked for in various positions for 23 years (including 6 years as national sales manager) before deciding to open his own dealership.
The Smiths built the company into one of the most respected Link-Belt dealerships in the nation. Rexco eventually expanded their territory and added new facilities with Des Moines in ’76 and Davenport in ’89 and most recently a branch in Omaha, Nebraska. Rexco is now the oldest Link-Belt crane & excavator dealer in the country.
Their sons Rex and Steve who grew up in the business, were a large part in the growth of Rexco Equipment during this time, and currently served as President and Vice President of the multi-line company.
Rexco also branched out into the compact equipment sector with lines that include Bobcat, Kubota, and Ex-Mark. The company currently operates 4 Bobcat dealerships in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Davenport and Burlington areas.
